Shawn Milne

Shawn Milne continued his mercurial rise through cycling’s elite ranks in 2007 with an impressive overall victory at the Tour of Taiwan – one that saw him also win the best sprinter classification. He followed that performance up with a third-place finish at the USPRO Criterium Championships and a sixth place at the U.S. National Road Race Championships.

Those accomplishments follow a breakout season in 2006 in which he won several high-profile U.S. races, including the Univest Grand Prix, the Bank of America Criterium and two stages and the overall at the Fitchburg-Longsjo Stage Race. Milne says the victories at Univest and Bank of America were particularly satisfying since he nearly dropped out of both of those races at one point.

When he isn’t training, Milne is hitting the books. During the off-season, he completed no less than five college courses, working toward a business degree from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.

Milne looks forward to someday racing in Europe.
